Soil Literacy

Soil Literacy: Defining innovative solutions to promote soil literacy and transformative engagement

SOILSCAPE continues its mission to deepen understanding of soil and its vital role across Europe. In this second phase, the team focuses on creating innovative approaches to raise awareness and engage citizens, artists, scientists and professionals in soil preservation. This begins with the Soils and Arts Literacy Starter Pack, a practical guide to help regions establish their own Soil Orchestras and connect diverse communities around the care of soil. At the same time, a multilingual Soils and Arts Literacy Portal will also be developed to share knowledge and inspire action globally. Through creative pilot initiatives such as choreographic workshops and soil trails, soil education comes to life, showing citizens how their everyday choices impact the land. As the network expands, every new participant adds to a growing movement, building a sustainable future for the soils that sustain us all.

Below is a timeline showcasing the key milestones, illustrating the journey and core objectives of Soil Literacy.
